About TILT

TILT Autonomy builds autonomous systems for commercial and defense applications focusing on flight management systems for UAVs and control systems for unmanned surface vessels. We're a small, highly technical team building hardware and software that operates in critical environments.

The Role

You'll be the person who takes assemblies from parts to finished product. That means building and testing electronics and mechanical subassemblies, following and improving our build procedures, and being the operational backbone of the production floor. You'll work closely with our mechanical and electrical engineers

We're building precision hardware for defense-grade applications — you need to care about quality, be comfortable reading technical documentation, and know the difference between "close enough" and "done right."

What You'll Own

Assembly & Integration

• Build and test electronics assemblies — cable harnesses, PCBAs, connectors, housings
• Assemble mechanical subassemblies to engineering drawings and BOMs
• Perform functional checks and basic diagnostics after assembly
• Work within a cleanroom-adjacent environment with ESD-sensitive components

Production & Documentation

• Follow and maintain build instructions, traveler documents, and inspection checklists
• Flag discrepancies between drawings/BOMs and physical parts — if something doesn't match, you catch it
• Log build steps, test results, and nonconformances in our system
• Support incoming inspection: verify parts against POs, identify damage, maintain inventory accuracy

Continuous Improvement

• Identify and communicate process inefficiencies or recurring assembly issues
• Help develop and refine build procedures as our product line matures
• Support packaging and shipping of finished units, including documentation prep

What We're Looking For

Must have:

• 1+ years of hands-on electronics or electromechanical assembly experience
• Basic soldering and crimping skills — comfort with through-hole; SMT experience a plus
• Ability to read and work from engineering drawings, BOMs, and assembly instructions
• Careful, methodical work habits — attention to detail isn't optional here
• Comfortable working in a small team with shifting priorities

Strongly preferred:

• Experience with ESD protocols and handling sensitive electronics
• Background in aerospace, defense, marine, or other precision manufacturing environments
• Experience with test equipment: multimeters, power supplies, basic diagnostics

Nice to have:

• Familiarity with IPC-A-610 or J-STD-001 soldering standards
• Experience with unmanned systems, autopilot hardware, or embedded electronics
• Familiarity with Formlabs, Bambu, or other additive manufacturing equipment

Location & Schedule

On-site — Annapolis, MD. This is a hands-on role; remote is not available. Standard business hours with occasional flexibility for test milestones or deliveries.
