About TILT
TILT Autonomy builds the autonomy hardware and software that lets aircraft and boats fly and sail themselves — flight management control systems, the code that runs on them, and the tools that make both possible. Most of us got here the same way: taking things apart, writing our own tools when the ones on the shelf didn't fit, and staying up too late to get something working. The team is focused and deeply technical, and our systems are out in the field doing real work.

- Do you want to go deep on both sides of the boundary — the software and the hardware it runs on?
- Is there a project on your bench right now that nobody asked you to start?
- Does shipping a capability that didn't exist last month mean more to you than a title?

About the Role
You'll build the internal tools that keep TILT running — the systems the team uses to manage BOMs and procurement, track inventory, print labels, run dashboards, and put Claude to work on the tedious parts of the day. You own them end to end: the database, the back end, and the interface people actually click.
This is the job for someone who has always built their own tools. A teammate walks over with a rough annoyance, and a few days later there's a thing that makes it disappear — and you get to watch people use it that same week. Nothing here is a ticket handed down from a spec: you decide what to build, how to build it, and when it's good enough to ship. Plenty of it touches real hardware too, from label printers on the shop floor to the vendor systems our parts come through.
What You'll Do
- Build and maintain full-stack web tools — front end, back end, and database — for procurement, BOM management, inventory, shipping and labels, and internal dashboards
- Own the full software lifecycle: design, build, test, deploy, document, and support what's running
- Integrate with the services we depend on — Google Workspace, vendor sites like DigiKey and McMaster, shipping carriers, and hardware like label printers
- Build Claude-powered features into our internal tools (our assistant already runs on the Anthropic API)
- Model and wrangle data, and build the reporting and visualization the team acts on
- Keep it reliable — sensible testing, version control, and deployment
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years building and shipping full-stack web applications
- Proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript/JavaScript
- Back-end experience with a framework such as Flask or Node/Express
- Front-end experience with React (Next.js) or a comparable framework
- Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases (we run SQLite today)
- REST API design and integration
- Comfortable with Git, and in the habit of testing what you ship
- A self-starter who can take a rough need and carry it to a working tool without a spec
- U.S. citizenship
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience integrating LLMs into applications (Anthropic Claude, OpenAI, or similar)
- Google Workspace API experience — Drive, Gmail, Calendar, Sheets
- Web scraping and automation (Selenium, Playwright)
- Data wrangling with pandas
- Experience integrating hardware and peripherals (printers, scanners)
- Docker, CI/CD, and deploying on Linux
- Background in a manufacturing or hardware environment

Location & Schedule
Remote or on-site in Annapolis, MD. This work is a strong fit for remote — most of it is web tooling. Occasional travel to Annapolis for the hardware-adjacent pieces (label printers, shop-floor tools) helps but isn't required.
